GE Volunteers Council of Rio de Janeiro
This group of volunteers works to improve the quality of life in local communities through various activities throughout the year involving health, education, the environment and solidarity.
When the end of the year comes, it is time to celebrate accomplishments and successes, and to recognize employees who have set performance standards in their areas. This is when all Research Center employees get together to enjoy victories and share great moments with their teams.
The Global Research Center in Brazil is located in Rio de Janeiro, the capital city of Rio de Janeiro state, also known simply as Rio or Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City, in English), because of its mixed landscape of mountains and sea, which shapes breathtaking views and sunsets.
Right at the edge of the Guanabara Bay, the Research Center’s cutting-edge campus hosts 160 scientists working on research and development of technologies to meet the local customer’s needs. An office building and two laboratories are part of the facility, along with the first GE Learning Center in Latin America, which brings excellence in leadership training to GE leaders and partners.
