Pierre Huck loves what he does. When he started at GE in 2007, he was writing his master’s thesis on simulation of waste heat recovery systems. Seven years later, having been hired as a research engineer in 2007 upon completion of his thesis, he still works in this area.

In fact, two of his most significant accomplishments resulted from this effort. Two products that he worked on -  GE Power & Water Clean Cycle 125, a generator that can turn “waste heat” into reliable, base-load electricity, and GE Oil & Gas ORegen™ Waste Heat Recovery - have been commercialized. He is now working on the next generation of these commercialized products. These efforts form the basis for another of his accomplishments – receiving a GE Gold Patent Medallion – for more than 10 patent applications filed for this work.

“I love knowing that what I’m doing now could lead to reduced power consumption and CO2 emissions in the years to come,” the self-described data-driven, team player said. This fuels his excitement for what for the future brings, especially in the search for clean and affordable ways of generating electric power.

Outside of work, he finds excitement in playing with his young daughter, playing indoor football, listening to rock music and going to concerts.
