Earlier this year, three teams of GE Global Research technologists made the impossible unimpossible. They found innovative ways to protect a snowball on a journey to “hell,” make a wall a good listener, and catch lightning in a bottle.
Now we are looking to tap into the imaginations of university students globally to come up with our next Unimpossible Mission.
Beginning April 19, 2016, students can enter the Unimpossible Missions: The University Edition challenge by choosing an idiom from any language (preferably one that indicates something is impossible to do) and proposing an experiment to debunk the saying. The experiment should include GE technology. The contest closes June 14, 2016.
Winners will be selected by a panel of experts from GE and its partners. One winning entry will be chosen to be filmed as the next Unimpossible Mission video (click here to watch the first three Unimpossible Mission videos).
One winner will also get the chance to work side-by-side with GE Global Research technologists during a 10-week internship.
