Welcome to the Industrial Artificial Intelligence Lab at GE Global Research.

As part of Computing and Decision Sciences Technology area, the Lab conducts research in the areas of Prognostics and Health Management, Optimization and Decision Support, Condition Based Maintenance and the development and application of computational algorithms. The lab has a 25-year heritage of developing AI based solutions for predicting and managing the behavior of GE’s complex engineering and financial assets.

Key customers for the lab include GE Aviation Services, GE Energy, GE Healthcare and GE Financial Services. External relationships include Lockheed Martin, the Air Force Research Labs, DARPA, and Boeing.

For industrial equipment, the lab’s technologies enable proactive maintenance decision making for efficient operations. Financial applications include portfolio optimization, real-estate valuation and automated insurance underwriting.

The lab is composed of 14 scientists with backgrounds that span mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics and operations research. Members of the iAI lab hold 50+ patents, 450+publications and are active in IEEE, AAAI, INFORMS, IAAI, SIAM, ACM, BISC, VDI and ASME.
